Some seasons seem to move at full speed.
The calendar fills up. Plans stack on top of plans. Before you know it, you're wondering where the last few weeks went.
Other seasons feel completely different. Slower. Quieter. More reflective. The kind that leaves room for wandering, reading, daydreaming, or simply sitting still for a little while.
What's interesting is how quickly our homes begin to mirror the pace we're living at. The things we surround ourselves with often become small reminders of what matters most in that particular chapter.
Sometimes that means energy and inspiration. Sometimes it means calm and breathing room.
Whatever kind of season you're having right now, your space should feel like it belongs to you.

World Social Media Day feels like a good moment to say something that does not get said enough.
When you follow an independent artist, you are not just adding to a feed. You are participating in something that did not exist not long ago, a direct line between the person making the work and the person it belongs to (or is browsing for now).
That relationship is worth something. The artists you follow get to keep working partly because people like you stayed curious. And you get something in return that a retail experience rarely offers; a real sense of who made the work, why they made it, and what comes next.
If you have been following along for a while and have not yet spent time in the gallery, this is a good week for it. And if you have friends who love art and do not know where to find independent work worth collecting, sending them this way is one of the better introductions you could make.

A lot of people put off collecting because they rent. The thinking makes sense on the surface. Why invest in something for walls you do not own?
But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you. It moves when you move. It looks right in the next place, too, and the one after that. If anything, renting is a reason to be more intentional about what you collect because what you choose has to matter enough to keep making the journey.
